Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Your name and email when you unlock or buy a skill — so we can grant access, issue download links, and send receipts.
• Order information for paid skills — skill, price, date, and status (such as paid or refunded).
• Entitlement and download records — which skills you're licensed to use and how many times a package has been downloaded.
• Basic technical data such as IP address and user-agent, used only to operate the service, prevent abuse, and keep access secure.

We don't ask you to create an account or a password, and we don't collect your card details at any point (see section 4).

2. How we use it

• grant you access to and let you re-download your unlocked skills;
• email you download links, receipts, and order updates;
• email a one-time library code the first time you (or anyone who knows your email) tries to open your library from a new device — the code unlocks that browser for 30 days;
• respond when you contact support;
• prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and keep access secure;
• maintain records of paid orders as needed for accounting; and
• understand, in aggregate, which skills are used, to improve what we offer.

3. Why we're allowed to use it

We use your information to do what you asked us to — deliver the skills you unlocked (our contract with you), to keep the service safe and secure (our legitimate business interest), and where you've explicitly asked us to do something. We don't rely on extra consent for things you didn't trigger.

4. Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run Skills4Sale, and share only what each one needs:

• Stripe handles payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never pass through or are stored by us.
• A transactional email provider delivers your download links and receipts.
• Hosting and storage providers hold our database, the site, and the skill package files.

We never sell or rent your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect Skills4Sale and its users from harm.

5. Cookies & local storage

Skills4Sale keeps tracking light. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't follow you across the web.

• Theme preference: stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers light or dark mode. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
• Admin session cookie: a single HttpOnly cookie used only to keep the admin area signed in. Regular visitors don't receive it.
• Library session cookie: a single HttpOnly cookie set after you verify a one-time code emailed to you. It remembers your verified browser for 30 days so you don't have to enter a code on every visit. You can clear it from the library page with the “Forget this device” button.

You can clear local storage and cookies from your browser at any time. Doing so won't remove your skill access — that's tied to your email, not your browser.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your entitlements and order records for as long as you need access to your skills, and for as long as we're required to keep records for accounting, tax, or legal reasons. If you want something deleted, see section 8.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we avoid holding sensitive data where we don't need to — for example, payment card details never touch our systems.

8. Your rights & choices

• ask what data we hold about you;
• correct something that's wrong; and
• request deletion of your personal data, subject to any records we're required to keep.

For any of these, email support@skills4sale.com from the address you used. We'll verify it's really you via that email before making changes.

9. Children

Skills4Sale isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed by us or our providers in countries other than your own. We rely on reputable providers that apply appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Your continued use of Skills4Sale after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
